Kathy Parry, MPH May 2012

Kathy is a second year MCH/MPH student and she has been working with CGBI during this school year as a graduate research assistant. Kathy is a licensed prenatal massage therapist and certified infant massage instructor and is collaborating on several CGBI projects. Kathy is an active BEBES member and will co-lead student efforts during the 2012-2013 school year. Kathy is also a student in this year's Mary Rose Tully Training Initiative to become a lactation consultant.


Jessica Phipps, MPH May 2012

Jessica is a second year MCH/MPH student and is an advisee of Dr. Miriam Labbok. She is currently a project associate for the Perinatal Quality Collaborative of North Carolina (PQCNC) on their Support for Intended Vaginal Birth Initiative. Jessica is very active in BEBES, and will co-lead the group with Kathy Parry.


Ali Starling, MPH May 2012

Ali is a second year MCH/MPH student working for CGBI this academic year as a graduate research assistant. She is a doula for the UNC BirthPartners volunteer program at the UNC hospital and an aspiring certified nurse midwife. She hopes to one day work in either sub-Saharan Africa or in a public health setting in the US, to help to make women's sexual and reproductive health a more natural, evidence-based practice.
