CGBI specific activities have included international support, monitoring and research on the Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), support for the new Expanded BFHI, research on the impact of other global programs, and building coalitions across disciplines to enhance breastfeeding-friendly endeavors around the world.  Also, in October 2010, CGBI joined with the World Alliance on Breastfeeding Action (WABA) at their meeting to Revisit and Celebrate Innocenti +20, with the theme of enabling mothering: keeping mothers and babies together. This meeting built on the Innocenti+15 findings, and offered challenges and next steps to those who are in decision making positions to influence the lives, health and rights of mother and children to have the best start on each new life.
