Reframing Birth and Breastfeeding: Moving Forward
For the first time, the organizers of the Breastfeeding and Feminism Symposia collaborated with the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) to offer participants an even greater diversity of topics and speakers. This collaborative conference included joint sessions and two tracks of concurrent sessions: a CIMS track and a Breastfeeding and Feminism track. North Carolina Trainings
There are many breastfeeding education opportunities across the state of North Carolina for health care providers.  These trainings are offered various times throughout the year and in many different formats.

Courses on Campus
Current coursework offered includes independent study research, the Survey Course on Optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (MHCH 605) and the Mary Rose Tully Training Initiative (MHCH 765), which is a training program for aspiring lactation consultants. In addition, a certificate program is under development to provide three training tracks:
